Dave of Hawg’s Bait and Tackle in Tawas said fishing is really good. Bluegill are biting on Tawas Lake and, in Lake Huron off AuSable Point, a lot of walleye and lake trout are being caught. The Tawas River is a hot spot right now for smallmouth bass.
Young Ed Beckley of Beckley’s M-65 & M-55 Bait Store said all of the Whittemore and Hale inland lakes are good for bluegill using leaf worms and crickets and some gill remain on the beds. Pike fishing is really good right now using white lures.
